Olateju Akinpelu Foundation - (OAF) Initiative is a non-profit organization committed to advancing child advocacy and protection, equitable access to quality education, zero hunger, public health and hygiene, and the empowerment of women and girls through impactful, community-driven programs.
Through evidence-based programs and strategic partnerships, we deliver targeted, community-driven interventions that support vulnerable children and underserved families—improving learning outcomes, strengthening community resilience, and driving inclusive development. Our work is guided by strong governance and globally aligned policies, including child safeguarding and protection, transparency and accountability, gender equality and inclusion, anti-fraud and ethical standards, data protection, and monitoring and evaluation frameworks. These principles ensure that every intervention is delivered with integrity, measurable impact, and long-term sustainability. What We Do
OAF Initiative implements a variety of programs tailored to meet the unique needs of communities, including:
- Slum to Stardom Project: We provide scholarships, educational support, and academic competitions with rewards, alongside experiential learning opportunities such as adventure outings, train rides, and picnics for children in remote communities. This program helps children discover their potential and aspire to excellence.
- Children & Teenage Mentorship Program: We mentor children and teenagers, including initiatives focused on girls, to nurture confidence, character, leadership, and resilience. Our programs guide young people to become responsible and empowered members of their communities.
- Women Empowerment & Skill Development: We provide training, mentorship, and resources to women and young girls, helping them acquire practical skills, enhance employability, and achieve economic independence.
- Healing, Health, and Wholeness: We run health programs for pregnant and nursing women facing challenges and visit children in hospitals to provide love, care, and assurance through interactive activities and care packages.
- Operation Feed & Clothe the Nation: We provide free food programs and essential clothing to vulnerable communities, ensuring that basic needs are met and families have the support they need to thrive.
- Partnerships & Fundraising: We collaborate with individuals, organizations, and communities to host fundraising and partnership events that support our programs and extend our impact. .
- Volunteer EngagementWe organize mixers, training sessions, and engagement activities to equip volunteers with skills, foster teamwork, and enhance effective service delivery.
- OAF Fiesta Our annual flagship event celebrates children in underserved communities with a real-life fiesta experience and relief packages, ensuring that everyone has something to celebrate during year-end or New Year festivitie.
